The headwaters of the Wisconsin River start in Phelps. Just two miles to the north, in Upper Michigan, is the Ottawa National Forest.  Phelps is a growing, forward-looking community blessed with an abundance of natural resources and beauty. Rollings hills and many lakes mark the terrain of this area. Moose have been known to come into the area so keep a look out for them.
